Government of Canada and Major Canadian Universities seek SCYAP for "Best Practices"

Due to SCYAP’s well known success, Darrell was recently sought out by the Government of Canada’s Department of Heritage, the Laidlaw Foundation, McMaster, McGill and York Universities for consultation on “best practices” for youth engagement. Darrell’s information was used in Policy making for granting of funds through the Federal Government as well as for content in a text book for the above mentioned universities.

Province of Ontario looks to SCYAP for success.

Researchers from the Ministry of Culture for the Province of Ontario contacted SCYAP for “Best Practices and strategies in engaging youth in Arts, sports and Leadership” This to be used in a major Ontario governmental report called “Routes of Violence Review”

Cities throughout North America contact SCYAP for advice.

Representatives from cities across Canada, and the Northwest Territories as well as from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis - St. Paul, have contacted Darrell to learn about developing a project such as SCYAP’s Urban Canvas. Most recently the City of Surrey Department of City Beautification, Parks, Recreation, and Culture, contacted us regarding the development and implementation of programming.

SCYAP Receives National EVA Award.

The award is given to organizations that assist homelessness and “at-risk” youth become self-sufficient. EVA initiatives and the CIBC recognize only 3 organizations nationwide.

SCYAP Founder and Director, Darrell Lechman Receives "100 people, 100 reasons" award.

For the Saskatoon 100 year Centennial, the City of Saskatoon, CTV, and Imagery Photography chose 100 people who make a difference as 100 reasons why Saskatoon is a great place to live.

SCYAP Founder and Director Receives Saskatchewan Centennial Metal.

The Commemorative Medal for the Centennial of Saskatchewan (Saskatchewan Centennial Medal) is a one-time commemorative medal marking the province’s 100th anniversary. The medal recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to society and honours outstanding achievements.
